What is the difference between normal saline and sterile water?
This is an issue of Microbiology. To dilute the serum AX I have to add normal saline to make it in BX. Why is normal saline solution instead of sterile water? BX is for an injection a baby. What if sterile water was used? Please help.
You would use saline because it is essentially salt water, but has the same pH as blood. Sterile water (if used enough) actually can cause a red blood cell to burst.
